A Few New Makes

There's still a week to enter the Christmassy Giveaway, the winner will be announced a week today.  Full details are........

Thought I'd share a few makes I've made recently.  The large letters are proving very popular!

I never get bored of making pink name banners, although the blue one has turned out really lovely aswell!

In other news, I had a "business meeting" today, which, if all works out, I hope to be able to share news of soon!  I want to see how it pans out over the next week or so as its a different direction from what I've been doing, but I will say Im going to be very busy sewing in every spare minute over the next few weeks!  All very exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!

There are a few people I consider my "bloggy friends", people who's blogs I love and comment on regularly and who are so lovely whenever I post something new, or ask a question about something.  So Im so happy to say that Emma over at Sweet Williams, launched her brand new website today.  It looks amazing and Im sure much money will be spent there!  To celebrate this launch she's having an AMAZING giveaway, which can be entered either via her website or her blog.

Right Im off to get organised and start work on my newest project!

My Poor Neglected Blog

I am still here, honestly, and I am still reading all your lovely blogs.  Trouble is, these days I catch up on my iphone not the pc so cant comment!  Bad blogger - must try harder!

There's still some sewing going on, not much but some, still orders being completed.  This is my most recent one.  Was a bit dubious about the colours at first but love how they came together...

Seren Name Banner

Close up of my favourite letters
I've also made another big squashy letter...

A big C this time in red and white.  Again, not christmas-y but just lovely!!  I'd love to have time to make a whole load of big squashy letters for craft fairs but time just isnt my friend at the moment and tends to rush past without me having achieved a lot!

In other news, we have two new additions to our family.  Please welcome, Holly (as in Ben and) and Peppa (as in Pig!).

Peppa and Holly all cwtched up!

A sleepy Holly
Long story short, we got Holly to keep our other rabbit Lola company, but after a few minutes it was obvious Lola is quite happy on her own, so I had to go back to the breeder and get Peppa to keep Holly company.  Daft?  Yes I am a little!  However I now have three happy bunnies, two very excited girlies and a husband who, although complained initially, made an amazing hutch for the little rabbits this afternoon!

Also, Lillie's having a first go at drawing....

And Madison drew a picture of me in chalk!

I love how my body is smaller than my head!

Hopefully, my next post will show you the finished product of what I did with all this...

Fingers crossed eh!?

Until next time, happy crafting!! x x

Cant Go Wrong With Buttons

I heart buttons lots!  When my husband came home a few months back and said we were going to be receiving a box of 10,000 buttons I was ecstatic!!  (my only disappointment was they were already sorted into colour/size order!  I would have had HOURS of fun with that!)

Anyway, needless to say, a lot of my makes are embellished with buttons.  I just think they're so pretty!  Plus, I have nearly 10,000 of them to put to good use.

Here are a couple of my latest makes for an order that I had.  I couldnt resist including some buttons...

And for the same customer, one of the biggest letters I've made!

When the customer asked for red and white for this letter, I didnt want it to look "Christmassy" if you know what I mean?  I dont think this does though, I think it looks pretty and cute!

Colours, Lovely Colours!

I very lucky to have received what only can be described as an influx of orders recently-and I do feel very lucky.  It never fails to surprise me when someone likes my things!  Some have been via my Facebook page, quite a few have been via the craft fairs I have been attending, but I have also recently had my first Etsy sale!  I have been emailing back and for to a lady who loved the cupcake and star banners and wants something made for her little girls.  I dont want go into too much detail but the colours include....
Cant wait to get started on my orders and send some of them across the pond!!  All these lovely colours (and a few more I couldnt resist) were ordered from my favourite site paper-and-string.  I find the felt from here so soft and lovely to work with.  Perfect for what I do really!

Had a lovely long weekend in London over the bank holiday.  Didnt do much, just visited family but it was nice to be away and me and the hubby even managed a night out at the pictures - with NO kids!

Right now I have a very poorly Lillie Pickle on the sofa, she's been throwing up for the last hour and a half, so just a quick post from me before she wakes up!

Bye for now! x x

Im pleased to reveal...

...two of my very latest makes!  One of the things I love about my little crafty business is that people talk!  A customer I made a banner for recently, was so pleased she then told her sister-in-law about it.  This led to not one, but two more orders for banners.  The customer wanted it to match the decor in her childrens new bedrooms and the brief was a tractor theme in bright colours for her little boy and pink, purple and turquoise for her little girl.

These are the end results....

Love love LOVE the colours my customer has chosen
Close up of a letter,

And another close up...
And the really cute tractors!
Had soooooo much trouble with the tractor wheels, they just didnt look right!  Looked much better with the ridges in them.  The heart banner turned out so well and I want those colours in my room (hubby might object a little)!  The gorgeous turquoise felt was ordered from the lovely paper-and-string website and the pink and purple spotty felt (which is my fav!) is from hobbycraft.

Im working on a name banner made up of letters rather than shapes at the moment, similar to the one I posted about here.

Other than that, my mind is thinking about stuff I can do for halloween and every now and then drifts towards christmas!  I've got some lovely ideas (in my opinion) for the craft fairs I've signed up for leading up to christmas and I really hope they will be a success.

I hope you like the banners, would love to hear what you think!

Pink, Pink and More Pink!

Its no suprise that, after having two girlies of my own and being a girl myself, Im a bit fond of the colour pink.  So when Im asked to make girly coloured name banners, my heart sings!

At a recent craft fair I was asked to make a name banner using letters rather than any other shapes and embellish with buttons and ribbons etc.

Name Banner For Martha
Lots of lovely buttons and ribbons!
close up of one of the A's

think the R is my favourite letter, or maybe A, or maybe...

I always love it when I come to the end of the project as I can see how its going to look and I always get a bit excited!!  Even more so with this as I am so so pleased with how its turned out!  Madison currently has a cupcake banner in her room but Im thinking of changing it to one of these!  I really hope the new owner likes it as much as I do.

Had my fourth ever craft fair today which went well.  Its funny, you never can tell whats going to sell well at these things but I had a few orders for banners and initials and one order for a canvas so Im looking forward to cracking on with them.

Looking forward to a relaxing day tomorrow, and remind me to tell you about the newest addition to our family (hint: she has long ears and a fluffy tail! heehee!)

A Recent Order

For those of you who read my blog, you may remember me mentioning that I was asked to make a "knight-themed" name banner for a little boy who was really into knights!  I had so much fun and this is the end result....

I've also been given another challenge of making a tractor name banner for a little boys new room in his new house so spent a couple of hours drawing and cutting tractors the other night!!  Hoping that one turns out well too!

I'm attending another fair next week so will post more photos of my stall.  Other than that, at the moment we are play-doh-ing, going swimming, visiting farms and all the other stuff kids love in the summer holidays!  Unfortunately, that means sewing time is down to a minimum, booo!!

A few people have given me some good advice on where to find good crochet tutorials too, so Im hoping to give that a go on a quiet day one day in the hopefully not too distant future.  I will make that baby blanket before my kids grow up!!

Hope you are all well and a huge HELLO to all my followers old and new *waves*

The Wedding!

Not mine, but I was as nervous as if it was!!  My lovely best friend Sian got married recently and I was honoured to be asked to be her bridesmaid, along with my oldest daughter, Madison.

It was such a perfect day, I cant even begin to tell you how much hard work Sian put in.  Even the weather dried up in time for photos!

Wont bore you with too many wedding pics but just wanted to show you how lovely it all was

Three pretty angels!  Madison is the one in the middle!

Me and the blushing bride!
Lillie Pickle looking cute as always and carrying my bouquet somehow??!
In other crafty news, I've finished the knight-themed banner!  It turned out exactly as I'd hoped.  Just have a few finished touches to put onto it then I can post pictures.

I've also been asked to make a monster themed name banner, a pink and turquoise themed banner and a tractor one, so I'm going to be a busy bee in the next few weeks!  Cant wait to get started.

Craft Show Chaos!

Actually, it wasnt so much chaotic as expensive as I took Madison with me to my most recent craft show!  Its only my third ever craft show and first time at the Langstone Village Craft Fair so I was a bit uncertain on how to set my stall up, who else would be there etc. etc.  I didnt need to worry though as I met some lovely people and had a lovely afternoon.  I signed up for the next one straight away!

Here are a few pictures of my stall (I love looking at other peoples craft stalls!)

My stall decorated with my bunting!

My little helper peaking from behind my stall (think she's eating cake!)

One side of stall with new canvas

Looking at the pictures I feel like more height is needed on my stall as its looking quite flat.  Oh well, something to work on for next time!

I had a lovely order from a fellow stall holder whilst at the craft fair.  Her son is really into Knights at the moment so she asked if I could design some sort of knight themed name banner.  I've had loads of fun with this and am looking forward to posting the finished result!

Think Im nearly updated on everything, just the wedding to post about now!

Having So Much Fun!

I've had so much fun this week and felt very lucky to be able to do what I do.  I've spent the last few days finishing an order, designing a few fathers day items that I hope to take to my next craft fair and starting a few more projects in between!  I seem to be a serial project-starter at the moment.  I've got so many ideas in my head, I feel like I need to at least start them before I lose my train of thought!

Where has this week gone?  I cant believe its Friday already!  I seem to spend my life asking that question - where has the time gone!?

I took a few pictures of a cupcake banner I finished this week.  It was 13 letters long so couldnt fit it all in one picture but managed to get most of it.

I love pink!  I had so much fun doing this banner as there is so much pink in it!

Got another night to myself tonight, Maddy, my oldest, has gone to London for the weekend with her nana to watch Shrek The Musical and Lillie, my littlest, will be going to bed very soon!

Hopefully, I'll be able to make my ideas into something that resembles the ideas in my head!  Somehow, they never turn out like that though!

Happy With The Result

I've FINALLY managed to finish one of my orders, get it packed up and sent off!  The order was for a star name banner, with blue, red and white colours included.  Im really happy with the result!  What do you think?

I've used buttons to re-inforce where the ribbon is stitched into the stars and as I said, Im really pleased with how it turned out!  I hope the new owners love it as much as I have love making it.

I've been sticking with the embellishments this week too and of course, had to make some cupcake embellishments as I just love cupcakes!  Very versatile and perfect for any crafting project, dont you think?

The pictures havent come out that well but I think they're quite cute!  I've got a few ideas for them wizzing around my head but they are also going in my Folksy shop.

Im off now while I have a few more minutes, to crack on with another couple of orders.  So far so good!

Looking forward too....

...getting back into a routine!  Its been lovely having everyone at home, but think we're all ready to get back into our routine now.  Im someone who does like my routine and get a bit upset if its disturbed!  I think because of the girls, a routine is important otherwise things tend to turn to chaos quite easily!  Anyway, we've had loads of lovely days out, both Petals have been spoilt rotten by family that visited and I think a lovely time has been had by all.

I've managed to do some more cutting today for my orders of name banners.  Starting to come together but I cant wait to be able to post the finished products!

Im seeing stars and cupcakes!
I've also started putting together a little bunting that I thought I could put at the front of my table at craft fairs.  I will get around to doing one that says "Pretty Petal Handmade" one day but this one just says "hello" and looks quite cute I think!

Im also going to put it on the front page of my website that Im working on.  More on that soon!

On a non-crafty note, I've been doing some sewing in the garden these last few weeks.  Its lovely to take my project box out there and sew while Im watching the girls play!  Now Im not green fingered by any stretch of the imagination but I noticed yesterday how beautiful the rose bush looked and decided to take a photo to share - smells beautiful too!

Until next time x x

I ♥ Cupcakes!

Since having my two gorgeous girlies (and being a girl myself!) I love all things pink and girly!  Even silly things make me happy like I can do a whole load of washing of entirely pink clothes!  Then there's Oldest Petals room that is completely pink from floor to ceiling.  Its no wonder then that a lot of my crafting ends up being for girls, girly or just in pink!

Lately, I've centered on cupcakes.  Not cooking but making from fabric and felt!  (my cooking skills aren't the best - unfortunately)  I dont know what it is about cupcakes but seeing a cupcake print or something with cupcakes on never fails to make me smile.

Anyway, I've put together a few items I've made lately from my "Cupcake Collection", including my latest make, a needle book.  I decided, after loosing a needle in one of my living room cushions (dont ask) I need somewhere to keep them safe.  Let me know what you think!

Needle book I HAD to have!

I hope you've liked looking I've got lots more ideas for cupcake shaped crafty things so hopefully I'll get a chance over the weekend to make them!!

Until next time x x
