Some Christmas Present Makes

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, I almost cant believe its all over.  I kind of feel my house has been through some kind of tornado as there is literally, stuff everywhere!!  Still, a fab time was had by all as Santa came with lots of presents.  I've obviously been a very good girl this year!

So now that its all over with, I thought I'd share a few things I made for my lovely sister for Christmas.  I dont make stuff for everyone, as not everyone appreciates the handmade look (cant imagine why!) but I knew exactly what I wanted to make for my lovely sis.

"The Nook" sign for my sisters cosy corner
My sister has a lovely little corner of her dining room where she has a comfy chair, blankets and she can cwtch up and read a book!  This is to put up in that corner!  She was very pleased with it as she'd asked for it on a canvas but I decided I wanted to try the embroidery hoop thing I'd seen on so many lovely blogs.  Was really pleased with how it turned out!

Close up of some flowers I embroidered.
Coasters made from vintage fabric
She is also mad on vintage and the vintagey look.  Now Im not quite at the clothes sewing stage, so when I found this fab vintage fabric on line, I decided to make some vintage coasters with my new sewing machine!  Again, really pleased with how they turned out.

Close up of the corner, tied up with some twine.
Felt and yarn necklace
Some of you may recognise the last one from an issue of Mollie Makes magazine.  My sister said how much she loved it at the time so I made it up for her for Christmas.  A fab present and quite thrify I think you'll agree!!

I also received some lovely handmade gifts including crocheted scarfs for myself, Maddy and Lillie made by my lovely mother in law.  She's so clever!  Will take photos of us modelling them and put them up as they really are so lovely - and they match!!

Finally, heres a picture of me and Maddy at Trafalgar Square in London on Christmas Eve.  We spent Christmas with my hubbys family this year and we were truly spoilt with presents and lots of food!

Maddy is a dalmation!!
Hope everyone had a fab Christmas too!

My Poor Neglected Blog

I am still here, honestly, and I am still reading all your lovely blogs.  Trouble is, these days I catch up on my iphone not the pc so cant comment!  Bad blogger - must try harder!

There's still some sewing going on, not much but some, still orders being completed.  This is my most recent one.  Was a bit dubious about the colours at first but love how they came together...

Close up of my favourite letters
I've also made another big squashy letter...

A big C this time in red and white.  Again, not christmas-y but just lovely!!  I'd love to have time to make a whole load of big squashy letters for craft fairs but time just isnt my friend at the moment and tends to rush past without me having achieved a lot!

In other news, we have two new additions to our family.  Please welcome, Holly (as in Ben and) and Peppa (as in Pig!).

Peppa and Holly all cwtched up!

A sleepy Holly
Long story short, we got Holly to keep our other rabbit Lola company, but after a few minutes it was obvious Lola is quite happy on her own, so I had to go back to the breeder and get Peppa to keep Holly company.  Daft?  Yes I am a little!  However I now have three happy bunnies, two very excited girlies and a husband who, although complained initially, made an amazing hutch for the little rabbits this afternoon!

Also, Lillie's having a first go at drawing....

And Madison drew a picture of me in chalk!

I love how my body is smaller than my head!

Hopefully, my next post will show you the finished product of what I did with all this...

Fingers crossed eh!?

Until next time, happy crafting!! x x

Two Pretty Fairies and Some Halloween Sprinkles

I'm still here! Been working hard on some orders I've had and putting together more for the craft fair I've got on Sunday. So please excuse my poor blogging lately, but I have still been reading everyones lovely blogs! I have them on my iPhone and check them on a regular/hourly basis!

I want to show you something my lovely friend over at Twinkles, Tutus and Twirls made for my girls after her fab Fairy and Elf party recently. Instead of thank you cards, she made us gorgeous scrapbook pages complete with fan photos of my girlies in their tutus and a verse she wrote herself! Clever? I know, I have Crafters Envy! We've put ours up under our stairs and you can see it as soon as you walk through the front door-perfect!

I've also had through the post recently some fab Halloween sprinkles! Bats and pumpkins for my Halloween party cupcakes I will be making FROM SCRATCH!! (promise!). I will be making a start on the crafty bits I want to include at the party soon-never too early to start planning (Stel, back me up here!)

Hope you are all having a lovely week-thank goodness it's nearly the weekend!

A Spooky Afternoon

Not in the traditional sense, thank goodness, Im a wuss when it comes to anything horror related or scary.  Im trying to get myself organised for the next craft fair, which is on 11th September and I want to get a lot of stock on my stall this time, rather than relying on people making orders, which they do, but I feel I could do a lot better if I had a lot more "ready" stock.

So as the next "holiday" we are approaching is halloween, Im doing a lot of halloween themed felt-y things!  Have spent the best part of the afternoon while a poorly Lillie was sleeping, cutting out this little lot...

Thats just the start as I've got a couple of other Halloween type ideas to start on, hopefully tomorrow!

Since the girls have come along, and especially since Maddy is old enough to get excited about dressing up, we love halloween in our house and always have a party and fireworks.  I hope there will be a couple of like-minded people at my next couple of craft fairs!

I've also cut out these ready to be stitched...

They will be birthday badges and mobile phone covers to add to my stock!  I thought my table looked a bit sparse at my last craft fair but this time its going to be overflowing with lots of lovely felt goodies! (if I say so myself!)

Im surprised at how much I've got done today given the shocking night I had with Lillie being sick, Maddy not wanting to sleep in her own bed and me freezing on the sofa!!  The housework however, has definitely suffered and crafting won today (no different from any other day really).

Hopefully I'll have lots of finished products to show you very very soon!

My Very Crafty Friend...

I cant believe the summer holidays are coming to an end.  Well, there are two weeks left until Maddy goes back to school.  We've had another fun week of visiting a county park, going to the beach (again - you can never go to the beach too much!) and we've also had a birthday party.

The birthday party was for a friends little girl who was three last weekend.  Now, Im so jealous of this friend!  She throws amazing parties for her kids with the cutest themes and this time, she surpassed herself!!  Her daughter loves Ben and Holly so this year my friend did a "Elves and Fairies" party, complete with hand-tied tutus and twirling wands for the girls and elf hats and sticks for the boys.

I think you'll agree, all the kids looked too cute!!

Too cute as a fairy!

Maddy looks made to wear fairy wings!

Beautiful detail from the back

My gorgeous handsome nephew really suited that hat!
My amazing crafty friend sells all her fab makes on ebay, which you can find HERE!

Some other bits she made for the party (which Im also very jealous of - in an admiring way of course) included...

Amazing table decoration

I've been busy finishing off orders from the last craft fair I did.  I've posted them off today so hope to post pictures of them soon!  Im also getting ready for the next craft fair which will be in Cwmbran on 11th Setpember.  Its the first one so fingers crossed, it will be busy!!

Bye for now! x x

Look What I've Got!

After much searching and much disappointment at seeing an empty shelf, Im very pleased to say, I've finally bought my first copy of Mollie Makes!  Yes, I know we are now on issue three but I've always been a bit slow on the uptake and after looking for issues 1 and 2 a few weeks after they were released, I could never find a copy.

Well, whilst browsing my local Hobbycraft about 10 days ago, I found this copy...

Now I have to confess, I havent read it yet (oh the shame) but am itching to and have flicked through.  Unfortunately, kids dont find watching mummy read a magazine very entertaining!

We've had a really busy summer holidays so far, parks, parties, beach visits, picnics, so today Im having a down day and very much intend to read at least a few articles in what looks (and sounds) like a fab magazine!  So Peppa Pig is on tv and Im off to make a cuppa and try and grab ten minutes peace!

Just a quick pic of my Lillie's first time on the beach.  The weather is so grim today, I cant believe that yesterday we were on the beach!!

Lillie Pickle on the beach :) x x

p.s. Havent forgotten the Versatile Blog Award I need to pass on, its just all the fab blogs I would like to pass it on to have already have it!  Have a lovely lovely blog in mind though.
